Ordinarily Extraordinary

I'm pretty sure that "ordinarily extraordinary" is not correct grammar. I teach English/Reading, but my blog is about using words for "fun" and not for perfection. And today was an example of an ordinarily extraordinary day. Today was nothing special, but it was. It was a reminder of how the everyday is so special. I love having my blog, especially to look back at and read and eventually turn into a little memory book. Some times it is important to look at simple moments and see how special they are. First picture is not from today, but yesterday.
Didn't my hubby send me beautiful flowers? I love them (and him) :)
The gorgeous flowers that my husband sent me at work yesterday for our anniversary
Back to today. Hen kept me up a little last night, so when I woke up this morning, I wasn't feeling overjoyed to start the day. I was tired. I started my coffee and the smiles began. Ty came in the bathroom to say good morning and give me a big kiss. While I was getting ready, he came back in and told me how pretty I looked and how he loved my hair clip (thanks Auntie LiLi).

The morning was smooth, boys were happy in the car.
Off to school. My class was overly obedient today, followed directions, and no one got in trouble. It was a miracle. One of the boys who was kicked out last week for cussing out a student in the middle of class was kind, respectful, and paying attention today. I felt encouraged.

My third grade class came in. A boy that really struggles and sometimes acts out did great this morning. I shook his hand before he left and acknowledged how well he did that day. He proceeded to bow to me. I joked that I felt like a queen and before he left the classroom he got on his knees, bowing, and saying, "Hail Queen Hinrichs." I could get used to that :)

I made calls for my other job and received encouraging words from people I was giving advice to that definitely brightened my outlook of a job that sometimes is a little difficult.

I picked up my sweet boys from school and headed home. I laid with my boys for naps, read a couple chapters in the Help, caught up on last night's One Tree Hill (love that Chris Kellar is back), and made yummy salads for Aaron and I for dinner.

The mail came today and I received my super cute Tom Wedges. I painted my toes and nails. I have a gift certificate to a spa and I'm challenging myself to have great nails by February 1st and I will get my first actual manicure with my actual nails.

I read my Bible and by the way, I'm loving the Bible in a year plan. I don't know why it was so hard before. It is something I look forward to every day. Did I mention how gorgeous it was today, playing outside with the boys and dog and enjoying ANOTHER day of sunshine! This rain really needs to show up soon.

I went to Revv cycling class at Cal Courts and it kicked my booty. The boys and I got yummy chicken strips from Safeway before heading to the Children/Youth Appreciation at the church. We laughed with friends, ate ice cream, played minute to win it games, and I even won a Starbucks card. Now I can relax at home with my boy and watch a little Greys.

Today was just an ordinary day. I'm choosing to write about random ordinary days that maybe were a little bit special. Days will be tough and frustrating, but these special days are ones to remember all of the good things and appreciate the everyday, ordinary, wonderful things that I get to experience :)
My sweet little munchkin asleep on the way home from Grammy's

My sweet little midget and I after school (I look so natural, I haven't worn eye make-up since December 23rd, tomorrow night will be the first)

I know I already talked about my Ebay steals, but my Toms wedges came in today and they are in PERFECT condition. I spent $36 total, if I bought these online, I would pay over $80. I'm so in love!
Puppy play time on another 60 degree perfect day
